MediPlus Comfort Foam Silicone Adhesive Wound Dressing is all-in-one foam dressing, coated with a soft silicone wound contact layer and a soft silicone adhesive border that allow fixation without secondary dressing or fixation tape. It has intrinsic properties that can be easily removed to minimize trauma and pain. It is designed to absorb and retain exudates to help reduce the risk of maceration.

Indications:
- Provide an effective barrier to bacterial penetration and are indicated for exudates absorption and the management of partial to full thickness wounds, including:
- Ulcers (e.g., venous, arterial, diabetic)
- Surgical incision
- Pressure sores
- Surgical excisions
- Donor sites
- Burns (first and second degree)

More Information

Precaution:

- MediPlus Silicone Comfort Foam dressings are not intended to provide treatment for infected wounds
- MediPlus Silicone Comfort Foam is not suitable for use on cavity wounds, but may be used over cavity wounds as a secondary dressing
Instruction for use:
- Select an appropriate size dressing. Cleanse the wound. Prepare, clean and dry the skin around the wound to ensure proper adherence of the soft silicone
- Allow the dressing to overlap dry skin by 12 cm. Peel back the release papers and anchor the dressing over the wound. To seal the dressing, smooth the dressing into place, ensuring that the edges of the dressing are not wrinkled
- The dressings should be inspected per facility protocol. Dressings can be left in place until exudate can be seen through the outer waterproof film layer and approaches 3/4-inch from the edge of the dressing. During the early stages of moist wound healing, the wound size may initially increase and is the normal process supporting debridement.
- To remove, lift one corner of the dressing and lift it gently away from the wound.
