When to use McKesson Super Absorbent Polymer Dressing?

• Primary dressing or secondary dressing for partial thickness or full thickness wounds. 
• Use when there is moderate to large amounts of drainage and extra absorbency is needed to help better manage the fluid and decrease the frequency of dressing changes. 
• Excellent dressing for use under compression for heavily draining venous leg ulcers

Contraindications:

• Patients with a known hypersensitivity to the product itself or to its components. 
• Not for use in tunneling wound pockets as the dressing can expand considerably when wound exudates are absorbed. Not for use on wounds with little to no exudates, as this may cause drying out of the wound.

Change Frequency:

• Change dressing as directed by a healthcare professional.

Recommended Secondary Dressings:

• Elastic net retainer dressing or conforming bandage. Medical adhesive tape should not be used.
